Questions about selling metal.
Do I need to clean the steel from concrete before selling?
It is highly recommended. Rebar heavily caked in concrete is considered contaminated and will fetch a lower price. Clean steel (HMS 1) gets the top market rate.
Will you buy rusty iron?
Yes. Surface rust is normal and acceptable. However, if the metal is completely degraded or flaking apart (losing its density), it will be graded as light iron rather than heavy melting steel.
Do you buy stainless steel?
Yes, we buy stainless steel (such as 304 and 316 grades) which is priced entirely differently than standard carbon steel. It pays significantly more.
Is there a minimum weight for you to send a truck?
We prefer a minimum of 500kg for standard metal dispatch to make the transport viable. However, if the metal is mixed with high-value items like copper or computers, we can dispatch for less.
